      A vast majority of computers and Internet browsers can support TutorMing's online classrooms. If you are unclear about whether or not your system would work, please click this link to Test Your Software.

      Please have Java Script and Flash installed and updated so you can view all of our slides and videos.

      To maximize connection quality, please close any BT or P2P programs, and make sure you aren't downloading large files at the same time as your session.

      For the best quality, we recommend using an Ethernet cable as opposed to a wireless Internet connection.

    • Do I need to buy a webcam and headphones with a microphone?

      You do not need to have a webcam. We respect our students' privacy. You do not need to prepare a webcam for the session.

      However, our curriculum is based on an interactive, online audiovisual system, which allows our consultants to evaluate the pronunciation accuracy of your speech.

      For the best results, we recommend headphones equipped with a microphone. If your device has an embedded microphone, you can use it as an alternative.

      You also need to have a system with a sound card. Note: If you can play music on your device that means it has a sound card!

    • Can I take classes on my tablet?

      Yes! Just download the TutorMing Mobile App from iTunes or Google Play and log in before your scheduled session time!

    • Help! I'm having technical issues!

About TutorMing

    • Do you only teach Mandarin Chinese? Do you teach Cantonese, Japanese, or Korean?

      Right now, we only offer lessons in Mandarin Chinese. We focus on one thing and do it well.

    • Do you teach in Simplified for Traditional Chinese characters?

      All of our consultants can teach both of them! You can pick which one you would like to learn.

    • How long does it take to become fluent in Chinese?

      How quickly someone can pick up a language depends on many variables: personal factors, the amount of time they devote, and their degree of motivation. Please get in touch with our team, and we can give you a consultation.

    • How many course levels do you have?

      At TutorMing, we focus on understanding the individual's Chinese ability, according to listening, speaking, reading, and writing. We divided our materials into 12 levels, allowing all the students to improve their Chinese abilities in a precise manner. However, since all of our materials are on diverse subjects, there's always something new to learn!

    • How can I join TutorMing?

      It's easy! Click Register anywhere on the TutorMing website and fill in your details to join for free!

    • What do I do if I forget my username or password?

      You can reset your password by clicking this link: Forgot Your Password? After you have entered your email address, the system will send you a new temporary password. You can change this by going to Personal Information and clicking "Change Password."

    • Why can't I log in?

      Double-check that the ID and password you entered are correct. The letters are case sensitive. If you continue to have trouble, you can reset your password by clicking this link: Forgot Your Password?

    • Where can I update my personal profile?

      If you want to update your personal information, after logging in, go to Personal Information.

Purchasing TutorMing Sessions Online

    • What type of courses can I purchase and how much do they cost?

      TutorMing provides various customized programs based on different learning needs. If you would like to know our products and pricing options, please fill out the registration form or contact us. One of our product specialists will be in touch.

    • Where do I go to purchase TutorMing courses?

      Online, right here! Just fill out the registration form or contact us, and one of our product specialists will get in touch to walk you through the process.

    • What credit cards do you accept?

      We accept Visa, MasterCard and JCB (Only for HUA NAN BANK / TAIWAN COOPERATIVE BANK).

Using TutorMing

    • How do I log in?

      To log in to your TutorMing member account, please click "Login" on the top of the page and enter your email and password.

    • How can I make a reservation?

      You can make a reservation from the Reservation Center. Reservations can be made up to 24 hours before the session time.

      • Step 1.

        Select your time zone and check your local time. Remember to account for time change due to Daylight Savings where you live.

      • Step 2.

        Select your available time and click on submit to reserve your class.

    • Can I cancel reserved sessions?

      Yes, you can cancel your reservation up to four hours prior to the start of the session by going to Reservation Center and unchecking the reservation. Click "Submit" to finish the cancellation.

    • Can I ask the consultant to teach a preferred material?

      At this stage, we only offer the study materials chosen by our consultants and DCGS system. If you have any special requests regarding this subject, please Contact Us.

    • Help! I can't enter my session!

      Is it time for your class yet? You may enter the classroom 3 minutes before the session begins. Please wait until the "Enter Session" button turns red, then click the button to enter the session room. You should be able to see your lesson plan, consultant's name, and learning focus.

    • How do I preview my material?

      You can preview your material up to 30 minutes before your session starts.

      Click on the slides at the bottom of the page to preview your lesson plan. Click on the X at the top-right of the page to close the preview window.

    • How do I preview / review my vocabulary?

      • Step 1.

        Click material preview to see the material slide.

      • Step 2.

        Click Vocabulary Preview to see the vocabulary. If you would like to save a word for review later, click on the save icon on the right of the page, and the word will be saved to your personal VocaBank.

      You can log in at any time to review your saved vocabulary words under "VocaBank."

    • Can I rate my class and consultant?

      Yes! After your class, you can rate your consultant, lesson plan, and the Internet connection for the session. You can submit feedback up to 24 hours after each attended class.

    • Why do I have homework?

      The homework lets the consultant know how much you have absorbed from the session. We use it as a form of feedback, and the consultant can also use it to identify your strong and weak points.

    • How do I do my homework and review?

      There are ten homework questions for each class. Click on the status to do your homework, and submit when you are done to see your score.

      24 hours after your session has finished, the class video will be uploaded for you to view. Go to "Homework & Review" under the Member Center.
